Doctor Who?

Oh man, look out world, I have discovered the Doctor Who TV show.
For those of you who don't know what that is, it used to be a comic book series that was started sometime in the early 60's I'm guessing. Since the 1960's it has become a BBC production that has lasted and is still going now in 2012.
It is about a man called The Doctor; a Time Lord who travels through time and space saving planets and civilizations from certain doom.
Over the course of the show, there have been 11 'Doctors'. They are all the same man, but different actors at times. The main reason this is plausible, is because the main ability The Doctor has is regeneration. Whenever his body becomes too 'weary' or 'beaten' or is simply ready to move on, he regenerates and gains a new body. So he is the same person, although his appearance and personality changes.

Anyway, last year some time I found out they had rebooted the TV show(Meaning they continued the storyline with a new actor), and have been doing so since around 2005 or so.
Just the other day is when I decided to check it out. And I must say, it is quite good! Complete with adventure, goop old fashioned British sci-fi elements, action, aliens and monsters, and of course the mind boggling concept of time travel. They do an epic job of making the whole story flow. Sometimes he will meet people from his future, and then later the new doctor will meet them, things like that. And much more complicated aspects as well.
It's brilliantly done, wonderfully British in it's humor/humour, and all around great.

I rate it PG on most and MAYBE a PG-13 on a few. That I've seen anyway.

  1. Ah... so THIS was what Lizzy was babbling on about! She was all telling me about this "Doctor Who" and all this cute aliens and scary aliens, and frankly it sounded kind of weird (Imagine trying to explain Star Trek to someone who's never even heard of it, lol) :D This clears it up a bit! Ugh. Sounds like an interesting show but wow. I find that when they keep rebooting tv shows for like 40 years they eventually get a little repetitive. But I have to admit, a Time Lord sounds pretty cool. I'll have to watch an episode sometime. :D
    Ever seen the X-files?

  2. Haha, yep! It's actually very good. And weird. I first discovered the whole story when I bought 3-4 Doctor Who comic books several years ago. I was captured instantly!
The funny thing is, it's not exactly "Rebooted" although I did say that. It's just a continuation, and they did a good job. I might have mentioned this, but the Tenth Doctor is the best! David Tennant is the actor's name. The ninth doctor just isn't...good enough. :D
Although I really should acquire the series on DVD and watch them, including the Ninth.
Hmm, nope. We own it though(The Movie). I heard it's really creepy and scary. I like those things. :)
