Writing Flaws.

I have always been a writer. Whether I have been good or not is up to the critics.
When I was about 8, I would take standard 'line paper' and write short stories about an adventurer with the same name as me. It was all very Indian Jones-ish, what with the jungles, the slight action and the treasure at the end.
As most writers of that age, I did absolutely no research. I just started writing with a small idea, and out came a story. The best and most important thing was, it was FUN.
I continued to grow up writing, whether it was in my journal, or writing small stories here and there besides my school assignments, which were extensive.
Besides my school assignments, my writing was not exactly researched, even in my 'later years' till now.
This lack of research seriously impacts your ability to write a lot of good material, not to mention your motivation. I realize research can be tedious, but hey, it's necessary in order to write a book or an article that will keep a readers interest, and it is also important to get facts right. If it's wrong, then things could easily go wrong, and you could be marked as an unreliable source. Not a good thing for a writer unless you happen to author fiction, and even then, you risk the possibility of plagiarism.

So, I guess another thing is, avoid writers block. Well, I guess you can't exactly avoid it...but you can slightly prevent it. By actually trying to finish your article the first day you start writing it! Unless it's a long one, in which case....well the point is, I started this about a week and a half ago, kept adding some sentences here and there, and finally lost my whole reason for writing this post...I do hope you learn something from it though!
